Protecting workloads on public cloud using native tools can be complex. You have to create your own scripts frequently to orchestrate the different snapshot and replication methods available with various cloud services. The scripts are not really easy to maintain, audit, and scale as you take advantage of the flexibility and elasticity of the cloud. And if you have regulatory or business process requirements to create secondary copies of backups in other cloud providers or back in your on-premises datacenter, it increases the complexity.
